By Four Gee Sixty Three
I did commercial electrical contract work for nearly 4 years and went through two ACL tears and repairs (each knee). After both surgeries, I found wearing steel toe safety toe work boots to be like working with my feet strapped to two concrete cinder blocks all day. My knees no longer had the same strength to bear the weight, so you can imagine these Amphibians by Wolverine were a Godsend! These boots are nearly as light as an average tennis shoe, and that's not exaggerating! The carbon fiber safety toe makes that much a difference. The Gore-Tex material also offers water resistance and have kept my feet dry when having to work out in the rain. So far, these boots have been through some tough jobs, and they don't even show a hint of fatigue. After wearing a pair of these, you'll never go back to traditional steel toes any longer. Especially if your'e an electrician, because an added bonus of the carbon fiber toe is that its non-conductive. Awesome, would definitely buy another pair!
**UPDATE** 5/24/11 - Although I no longer do electrical contracting work, I still wear the Amphibians to work, they are that comfortable and light! They are only beginning to show the slightest signs of eventual wear, mainly where the safety toe stops and the other material begins. Slight tear there, but that's to be expected, as it happens to all safety-toe boots eventually. Still going strong, and I still highly recommend these!

I have no idea why others have had problems with the waterproofing on these boots. I have now worn them outside for 4 months going ankle deep in water with no problems. The carbon toe is lighter than my previous steel toe and I will be buying another pair shortly for home use. I work outside for 8 hours or more each day, on my feet and really like these boots. For those of you who care, these are one of the few boots that are " vegan" i.e. no leather, safety toe boots on the market. At least that I have found. Price here is good too (Amazon).

By dmchenry35
I purchased this boot for work since we have to go through metal detectors daily, taking steel toe boots on and off is a pain. While these boots succeeded in not tripping the detectors, they failed at about everything else.
The "Safety Toe" became warped inside one of the boots and dug in to my foot, there was no apparent remedy to this about 1.5 hours in to my 16 hour shift. This safety toe nearly completely collapsed by the time I returned these boots.
The front material of the boot chipped and sort of broke off very easily. I'm not sure what it was made of/from but it wasn't a good or high quality at all.
Finally the comfort level wasn't that great either. For a company that supposedly prides itself on comfort in boots, I've had far more comfortable boots at half the price.
Never again Wolverine!
