i am ordering these for the second time. i've had the same pair for 2 and a half years....believe me, they dont look too pretty now. part of it, is because i tend to wear something until it falls apart -these boots didnt have any signs of falling apart until about six months ago. 2 years before the sides started taring, and a tare in the bottom started about 2 months ago.-, i am also a machinist, and am around a lot of oil, nasty coolant, metal chips, and so on. i have had a 6 inch diameter by 10 foot in length piece of heat treated titanium steel fall on the steel toes, and not even leave a dent. it is super slippery on the floors at my work (because of the oil), and i can literally run across these floors, with plenty of traction, even after 2 and a half years of wear on the bottom. on top of all this....i dont have a car, and these boots are all i own. i walk miles in these boots. for about a year straight, i walked 3 miles to work, and 3 miles back. 6 miles a day for a year straight -minus weekends and such-. the shoes were not falling apart at all. just the typical wear on the bottom. i highly recomend these boots.

I have had these boots for 2 years now and they are awesome. I wear them to go get firewood because I fell one time with the chainsaw and it barely touch my sneaker while the chain was slowing down and it ripped apart my sneaker and sock but luckily not my foot.I had a 18" round log fall on my foot from 2 1/2ft high and I felt nothing.I would defenitely buy these again if I ever wear these out

I use these at my work as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic on the North Slope of Alaska (oilfields)while in the shop. It took one 4 week hitch of 90 hour weeks for the seam where the lower and the piece that holds the eyelets to crease and start to tear like wet cardboard. They aren't overly comfortable for me as well. The insoles are basically just a piece of foam about a few mils thick. The ceramic toe is much wider than others on the market which is why I bought them. I wont buy them again though.
